Ideas to take care of YOUR mental well-being
I follow an entrepreneur name Alex Hormozi and I like his simple definition of learning. He says:
Same condition, different behavior
If someone change his behavior while facing the same condition, he has learn.
Then he goes into defining intelligence:
The speed of which you change your behavior while facing the same condition.
Following his definition, someone that doesn't change or change his behavior very slowly is less intelligent than someone who is changing it fast.
So I ask myself what kind of process I could implement in my life to change fast.
We all know that the new year resolution are the slow way to change so what is the alternative?
Since we live in a world of information, we are bombarded and it is way to much. We must be careful otherwise we would drown with this unlimited selection of tips, tricks and methods.
Some people just ignore everything and miss opportunities to learn and than some people are very selective. I have decided to be selective with my 3 buckets technique.
What I do:
When the new information comes in, either I hear it on the radio, TV, see on social media, read a book, have a tip of a friend, heard on a podcast, saw in a video, on a movie, I usually have 3 buckets.
Garbage, belief, habit
99% of the information goes into garbage and 1% goes into belief and habits.
99% is the information that will not help you right now in your life or that you already knew and are currently applying in your life.
the 1% is the new idea that will help you in your life by transforming a belief and/or a habit you have.
Step 1: I take note of that 1% idea in my current list of habits and belief. So that I can apply it in my life today.
Here are few examples of golden nuggets that you can write on your habit list: practice gratitude, reading, call family member at least twice a week, write what you learn, spend less than you earn, workout, stop eating when your belly is 80% full, start saying no to prioritize yourself, remplace scrolling by reading, always being honest, respect everyone, manage your financial portfolio, focus on growth relationship.
Examples of golden nuggets that you can write on your belief list are: I am grateful, I am confident, I am discipline, we become what we think about, I contribute to the world, I am proud of me, I love myself, I am a person of high value, I surround myself with positive people, I am healthy, I am young, I am full of vitality.
Step 2: Than every morning, I read my list of belief and my list of habits and I see what I must implement in my life and I do it. Not question asked.
In summary it’s: 1. Discover and write down 2. Read and do daily
Note: Simply start with 1 belief and/or 1 habit at a time so it’s easier to implement in your life.
If you hear that it is healthy to drink a big glass of water when you wake up, you don’t have to wait until new year eve to start doing it. Simply write it in your list of habits and when you wake up, you read your list, you see: DRINK A BIG GLASS OF WATER than you start doing it. Maybe you’ll do it only 2-3 times the first week, but after few weeks of reading it every morning, you’ll do it more and more.
Think about it, why do we learn? It’s to change our life! But if someone hear something valuable and he doesn’t apply it, but he really values it, that means he didn’t learn anything.
Same condition, different behavior
